South Molton & North Molton

The ancient village of North Molton is an ideal base from which to explore Exmoor and North Devon’s dramatic coast. The village boasts a friendly pub, Post Office and a village shop offering home-grown produce from local farms and delicious home-baked goods, while just a few miles away, the pretty town of South Molton offers a range of shops and a twice weekly market. Being pleasantly close to both coastal and inland beauty spots, this quaint village is sure to suit visitors of all tastes.

Within easy reach are forests, moors, rivers and beaches, along with churches and other buildings of historical significance, whilst just a mile or so away is the border of the Exmoor National Park.

Exeter - 35 Miles

The beautiful ancient city boasts a Gothic Cathedral surrounded by shops & restaurants. The city has plenty of shops and quirky alleys to explore. The quayside area offers superb eating out & lovely walks.

Ilfracombe - 23 Miles

The picturesque coastal town of Ilfracombe features a pretty harbour which is home the Damien Hirst's statue 'Verity'. Secluded beaches & coatsal walks are on the doorstep.

Bideford - 22 Miles

Bideford is an attractive town on the west bank of the River Torridge offering plenty of shops and cafes to browse. Close to to picturesque Appledore and the beaches of Instow & Westward Ho!

Barnstaple - 13 Miles

As the social centre of North Devon, Barnstaple always has lots to do; whether it’s meeting friends for dinner and a night out, taking in a show at the Queen’s Theatre.

The Great Outdoors

There is superb walking on the South West Coast Path and the North Devon coastline is varied and interesting. Visit the National Trust’s Watersmeet Gorge, Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway. Up on Exmoor, there are various walks to suit all abilities, as well as pretty places worth visiting including Tarr Steps, Landacre Bridge and the charming little village of Withypool. Further afield, the resorts of Ilfracombe and Combe Martin are well worth a visit, and for some of the best beaches in the country, a day trip to Woolacombe and Saunton are not to be missed.

The Valley of the Rocks is a dramatic section of coastline on the northern edge of Exmoor.
